The FireTenders Elemental Tenets

The Elemental Tenets are the foundational principles of FireTenders. We use these as a guide for our group work, leadership trainings, and for navigating the challenges of life.

1.

Spaciousness

Recognizing that space is the greater context of our lives we remember that the content of our mind and habits are often generated by our individual beliefs and past experiences. By moving into not knowing we can open new possibilities and greater degrees of relational freedom.

2.

Embodied Presence

With head, heart and guts aligned, we are honest about what is, can self-regulate and ground into the present moment with the breath.

3.

Integrity

Full responsibility— Keeping our word, and when we cannot keep it, we honor it by being in communication with ourselves and others. Taking 100% responsibility, not more and not less.

4.

Sensitivity

We turn a listening ear inward to feel our emotions, current state of being and present sensations. When we respect the power of vulnerability, the freedom of safety, the receptivity of our inner feminine we are more present to our own needs and the needs of others.

5.

Inclusivity

We welcome all men with understanding, compassion— seeing all men as whole and enough, while holding accountability to what is real. We make room inside ourselves for all parts of ourself even if they appear negative, pitiful, or enraged.

6.

Fire

Supported by our brothers, we cultivate and express our wildness, growing edges, anger, passion, and courage and allow all it to burn through to our own core purpose.

7.

Leadership

By looking inward, we discover our inner and outer leadership and capacity to envision and create from our hearts.

8.

Play & Creativity

This is perhaps the most joyous of tenets. If PLAY is fundamentally the absence of a “No”, CREATIVITY is surely the ability to find ways to say “YES” to what's happening. Curiosity and Play provide us access to our wild self. They are interdependent and highly symbiotic; if creativity can itself be playful, it therefore can open us up to play! Finding ways to creatively play at our edge, and not beyond it, allows us to both create trust with ourselves and confidence in our relationships.

9.

Generosity

By building stronger connections with ourselves and others, we allow our energetic presence to be of great benefit to our world, thus inspiring others to deepen their connection and authenticity.
